The LSU Museum of Art's latest exhibit Mexico in New Orleans: A Tale of Two Americas features artists from both Mexico and Louisiana, including works by Louisiana artists Caroline Durieux and Colette Pope Helder, who appear in Gilley's Gallery. These artists, among others, traveled to Mexico in an effort to immerse themselves in the culture and learn from some of the country's most prominent talents, including Diego Rivera. The exhibit follows the artwork and culture from the 1920s to 1950s and the influences still present in today's society. Mexico in New Orleans opens today and runs through August 30, 2015.
