Clementine Hunter's Iconic African House Recreated at Watermill Center Summer Program
At the Watermill Center Sumer Program, participants recreated the iconic African House of Melrose Plantation that is present in many of Clementine Hunter's paintings. It was in this house that Hunter worked and painted some of her most iconic works. The recreated African House was part of the 20th anniversary gala for the Watermill Center's summer benefit. The Watermill Center was founded by avant-gardism Rober Wilson, who met Clementine Hunter when he was 12 years old and purchased a painting from her.
