David Butler

7 Headed Dragon with Green Spots

Housepaint on Tin
36 x 26 in

David Butler began making his whimsical sculptures with the intention of keeping his yard colorful during the frigid winter months. Over the years, he fashioned thousands of these sculptures whose forms were inspired by Butler's dreams. He created these sculptures out of weathered sheets of tin that were frequently used in roofing.

Exhibited at the Outsider Art Fair, NYC and in the exhibit HOME, a gallery presentation of works by David Butler, Sanford Darling, Mary T. Smith and Sarah Mary Taylor (Shrine Gallery, NYC - January 22 - February 20, 2020)
