Independent Filmmakers Release Documentary About Howard Finster's Paradise Garden
June 20, 2014

Howard Finster was one of the most prolific outsider artists of the 20th century, creating thousands of artworks over his lifetime, along with album covers for R.E.M. and Talking Heads. The center of Finster's world was his Paradise Garden, the land around his home that he converted into a outdoor exhibition space for his religious art. However, after Finster's death, the garden soon fell into disrepair without its quirky caretaker. A foundation was created to preserve the Paradise Garden, and a group of filmmakers followed the 3-year effort to restore Finster's legendary exhibition space.
