Although the cliché verre technique was around before Durieux's prints, she tried her hand at the process in 1957. Working closely with LSU biochemist Dr. John F. Christman, they were able to produce color cliché verres. Durieux achieved the texture on the outer edge of the flower form by using a scraping technique during the printing process.
