Rhea Gary was born and raised in Clinton, Louisiana, where the state’s rich ecological beauty first made an impression upon her. She went on to earn a B.A. and M.F.A. from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge while also continuing her studies at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts.
Rhea’s work seeks to capture the unique beauty of Louisiana’s bayous, swamps, and marshes. In recognition of her work, Rhea has received numerous honors and continues to exhibit her work across the country. Her work is also held in collections across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Rhea and her family currently divide their time between homes in Baton Rouge and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
