George Frederick Castleden

Originally born in Canterbury, England in 1861, George Frederick Castleden went on to become one of Louisiana's most beloved artists. In 1903, Castleden decided to become a traveling landscape painter in the rural United States, but in a visit to New Orleans in 1911, he soon realized that all of the inspiration he needed could be found in the Crescent City.
